The move adds to Deutsche B\u00f6rse\u2019s extension into the cryptocurrency industry in order to provide custody solutions and a \u201cdirect entry point for investments.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n

Deutsche B\u00f6rse Group to Expand Further Into Digital\u3000Currency Ecosystem<\/h2>\n

Deutsche B\u00f6rse Group\u2019s latest announcement explains that the company wants to build a trusted and regulated cryptocurrency ecosystem in Europe. The financial institution that rakes in \u20ac2.936 billion ($3.5 billion) in revenue annually explained it has obtained a majority stake in Crypto Finance AG<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Switzerland-based Crypto Finance AG is a digital currency-focused finance organization that offers the storage, investment, and trading of crypto assets to professional clients. As a member of Deutsche B\u00f6rse Group, the company will scale while also assisting Deutsche B\u00f6rse\u2019s expansion into new financial territories.<\/p>\n

In a press statement, Deutsche B\u00f6rse explains that it plans to make Crypto Finance AG\u2019s products and offerings more accessible. \u201cThe goal is to establish a neutral, transparent, and highly scalable digital asset ecosystem under European regulation,\u201d the Frankfurt-based marketplace manager explained. \u201cDigital assets will transform the financial industry,\u201d Thomas Book, executive board member for trading and clearing at Deutsche B\u00f6rse remarked.<\/p>\n

Crypto Finance AG\u2019s Services Complement Deutsche B\u00f6rse\u2019s Recent Offerings<\/h2>\n

The Deutsche B\u00f6rse executive further added that Crypto Finance AG\u2019s services and products complement the marketplace manager\u2019s recent offerings. This includes 360X, a DLT-based platform for serial marketplace creation, and centrally-cleared crypto exchange-traded notes (ETNs). Book said there\u2019s been \u201cincreasing demand\u201d for crypto products and trusted partners. The founder of Crypto Finance AG, Jan Brzezek, will remain the leader of the company and still retains \u201csignificant personal holdings.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSince the beginning, our goal was to bridge the old and new worlds,\u201d Brzezek said in a statement. \u201cThis is why we are excited to team up with a neutral partner like Deutsche B\u00f6rse, who brings trust, reputation, and expertise in traditional financial market infrastructure.\u201d According to the announcement, the acquisition deal was a \u201cmoderate three-digit CHF million range\u201d and other terms were not disclosed. Both parties are expected to settle the deal by Q4 2021 if they gather regulatory approval.<\/p>\n

\u201cDeutsche B\u00f6rse will hold a two-thirds majority in the 2017 founded fintech that has received multiple awards,\u201d Deutsche B\u00f6rse concluded. \u201cThe remaining shares stay with existing investors, including CEO and founder Jan Brzezek, who will continue to lead and manage the business.\u201d<\/p>\n
