The Japanese financial regulator has approved Coinbase to trade five cryptocurrencies.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Japan\u2019s top financial regulator, the Financial Services Agency (FSA), announced last week that it has registered Coinbase as a crypto exchange service provider based on the revised Fund Settlement Act.<br \/>\nAccording to the FSA, Coinbase is approved to trade bitcoin (<a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/BTC\">BTC<\/a>), bitcoin cash (<a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/BCH\">BCH<\/a>), ether (<a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/ETH\">ETH<\/a>), stellar lumen (<a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/XLM\">XLM<\/a>), and litecoin (<a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/LTC\">LTC<\/a>).<br \/>\nThe approved entity is a Japanese subsidiary of Coinbase Global, a Nasdaq-listed company.<br \/>\nCoinbase <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/coinbase-japanese-market\/\">unveiled<\/a> its plan to enter the Japanese crypto market back in 2018. The company said at the time that it would be \u201cworking hand-in-hand with the Japanese FSA to ensure compliance with local laws at every stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- growjs zone placement 31 -->   <!-- end of growjs zone placement --> <\/p>\n<p>Coinbase is also a member of the Japan Virtual and Crypto assets Exchange Association (JVCEA), a self-regulatory organization.
