Matrix star Keanu Reeves has revealed that he owns cryptocurrency which a friend bought for him a while back. \u201cYeah, I have a little hodl,\u201d he said. The famous actor also commented on non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and the metaverse.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keanu Reeves Talks Crypto, Metaverse, and NFTs<\/h2>\n

Famous Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves talked about cryptocurrency, the metaverse, digital content, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in an interview<\/a> with the Verge last week.<\/p>\n

Reeves and co-star Carrie-Anne Moss were interviewed about making \u201cThe Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience,\u201d a playable tech demo built by Epic Games, and what to expect from their upcoming Matrix Resurrections movie. The two stars also discussed how technology is blurring the line between what\u2019s real and virtual.<\/p>\n

During the interview, Reeves commented on the metaverse and Facebook, the social media giant that recently changed its name to Meta. \u201cCan we just not have metaverse like be invented by Facebook?\u201d he said, elaborating:<\/p>\n

The concept of metaverse is like way older than that.<\/p>\n

He was also asked: \u201cDo you think it\u2019s dystopian like the way the original Matrix kind of presented all this \u2026 kind of dystopian where tech was headed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reeves replied, \u201cYeah,\u201d adding: \u201cBecause it\u2019s also content creation, it\u2019s fine, it\u2019s economic creation, cryptocurrency\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

The Matrix star did not finish answering the question when he was interrupted by a question about whether he owns cryptocurrency. \u201cAre either of you into cryptocurrency personally?\u201d he and Moss were asked. While Moss did not reply about crypto, Reeves shared:<\/p>\n

A friend of mine bought some for me a while back.<\/p>\n

Regarding his cryptocurrency, Reeves was further asked: \u201cBut you haven\u2019t done anything with it?\u201d The actor responded: \u201cI haven\u2019t had to.\u201d He was then told what hodling means. \u201cYeah, I have a little hodl,\u201d he admitted.<\/p>\n

On the subject of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), Reeves was asked whether he has seen the Matrix NFTs for the upcoming Matrix Resurrections movie. He admitted that he has not seen them, and wondered if he and Moss are getting paid at all for them.<\/p>\n
