The NFT collection raised 1,446 ether or $6.27 million at the time of settlement. <\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Free Ross Decentralized Autonomous Organization Wins Ross Ulbricht\u2019s NFT Auction, DAO Plans to Fractionalize NFT Collection<\/h2>\n<p>Four days ago, Bitcoin.com News <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/ross-ulbricht-genesis-collection-nft-auction-sees-millions-of-dollars-in-ethereum-bids\/\">reported<\/a> on the <a href=\"https:\/\/freeross.org\/genesis-collection\/\">Ross Ulbricht Genesis NFT collection<\/a> amassing millions of dollars worth of ethereum (<a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/ETH\">ETH<\/a>) bids on the Superrare NFT marketplace.<br \/>\nAt the time, there were some very high bids from an individual called \u201c@toxicbitcoinmaxi.\u201d However, the report also explained that the <a href=\"https:\/\/pleasr.org\/\">Pleasrdao<\/a> project also got involved in the bidding war for the collection and formed a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) called the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/freerossdao.com\/\">Free Ross DAO<\/a>.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Free Ross DAO raised 1,446 <a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/ETH\">ETH<\/a> or $6.27 million at the time of exchange. According to the DAO, the NFT collection will be \u201cfractionalized between the 500 Free Ross DAO contributors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The NFT collection was an assortment of writings and ten artworks produced by Ross Ulbricht and it includes an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=l_qliW8fKcY&amp;list=PLPefjTxHVZSo7icTMOTlFnRryyzYG7Jc3&amp;index=1\">animation<\/a> developed by the NFT artist Levitate. Ulbricht also did the voice-over for the animated work. The NFT collection was curated by Entoptic and proceeds will be handed by the Art4giving fund, and efforts to free Ulbricht.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the beginning with this NFT, I\u2019ve wanted to help kids travel to see their moms and dads in prison,\u201d Ulbricht said. \u201cBut with such high bids, we can now have a real impact on many other important causes as well.\u201d<br \/>\nInformation concerning Ross Ulbricht\u2019s case can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/freeross.org\/\">freeross.org<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/clemency-for-ross-ulbricht-condemned-to-die-in-prison-for-a-website\">Ulbricht\u2019s clemency petition<\/a> hosted on change.org is getting awfully close to reaching 500,000 signatures.
