This year the American artist Michael Winkelmann, otherwise known as Beeple, made history when he sold his non-fungible token (NFT) artwork \u201cEverydays\u201d for $69.3 million on March 11. Beeple\u2019s latest NFT called \u201cHuman One\u201d is a life-sized NFT sculpture that sold for $29 million, and the artist will update the NFT during the course of the rest of his existence on earth.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Beeple\u2019s \u2018Human One\u2019 NFT Fetches $29 Million, Artist Plans to Update Art Remotely for the Rest of His Life<\/h2>\n

Beeple is making headlines<\/a> again after he sold another multi-million dollar non-fungible token (NFT) called \u201cHuman One\u201d for $29 million at Christie\u2019s 21st Century Evening Sale<\/a>. Beeple (whose birth name is Michael Winkelmann) is one of the most well-known NFT artists today because his \u201cEverydays: The First 5,000 Days<\/a>\u201d NFT sold for $69.3 million. This made Beeple\u2019s artwork one of the most expensive pieces of art in the world and the most costly NFT sold to date.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverydays\u201d was sold via a Christie\u2019s auction on March 11, 2021, and Beeple\u2019s latest multi-million-dollar NFT sale was also through the luxury auction house. Beeple\u2019s new art is a life-sized 3D sculpture and an NFT that was minted on October 28, 2021. Christie\u2019s describes it as a \u201ckinetic video sculpture\u2014four video screens (16k resolution), polished aluminum metal, mahogany wood frame, dual media servers; endless video with corresponding dynamic non-fungible token.\u201d<\/p>\n

Human One: \u2018A Portrait of a Human Born in the Metaverse\u2019<\/h2>\n

Beeple describes<\/a> his latest NFT art as \u201cthe first portrait of a human born in the metaverse.\u201d The interesting thing about Beeple\u2019s \u201cHuman One\u201d is that he aims to change it over the course of his lifetime.<\/p>\n

This means that the owner, Ryan Zurrer, and any owners thereafter, may see the \u201cHuman One\u201d artwork change to whatever Beeple wants to add. The changes could depend on his mood and could represent something the artist is thinking about.<\/p>\n

At the moment, the life-sized 3D sculpture NFT shows an individual in a silver-colored space suit with boots, a helmet, and a backpack. The 21st Century Evening Sale auction of \u201cHuman One\u201d ended on November 8, with a realized price of $28,985,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe physical element is designed to continuously display the artwork. Beeple will maintain remote access to the physical element to ensure proper functionality and\/or enhance the displayed artwork,\u201d Christie\u2019s concludes. \u201cBeeple warrants that the physical element does not contain any features designed to impair the continuous display of the artwork.\u201d<\/p>\n
