Amid an ongoing lawsuit with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over XRP<\/a>, Ripple is launching a new product, Liquidity Hub, which aims to be \u201ca one-stop shop for enterprises to source any tokenized asset.\u201d The product \u201cwill allow customers to seamlessly access crypto assets from a variety of global venues, including market makers, exchanges, OTC desks and in the future decentralized venues,\u201d the company detailed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ripple Liquidity Hub Allows Customers to \u2018Seamlessly Access Crypto Assets From a Variety of Global Venues\u2019<\/h2>\n

Ripple announced Tuesday that it is launching a new product called \u201cRipple Liquidity Hub.\u201d The announcement explains:<\/p>\n

Ripple Liquidity Hub will allow customers to seamlessly access crypto assets from a variety of global venues, including market makers, exchanges, OTC desks and, in the future, decentralized venues.<\/p>\n

Asheesh Birla, general manager at Ripple, explained that the new product aims to be \u201ca one-stop shop for enterprises to source any tokenized asset.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ripple Liquidity Hub is expected to launch in 2022. \u201cThe product will support turn-key integration and smart order routing to source digital assets at optimized prices giving customers the ability to easily buy, sell, and hold crypto assets,\u201d Ripple explained.<\/p>\n

Initially, the platform will \u201csupport BTC<\/a>, ETH<\/a>, LTC<\/a>, ETC<\/a>, BCH<\/a> and XRP<\/a> (availability will vary by geography), with plans to expand to more tokenized assets,\u201d the company added, noting that \u201cIn the future Ripple plans to add additional features such as support for staking and yield generating functionalities.\u201d<\/p>\n

The announcement notes that Ripple has been using Liquidity Hub internally for almost two years \u201cfor internal liquidity management as part of its On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) product, powering millions of transactions, worth billions of dollars.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ripple\u2019s first partner to use the product is crypto-to-cash network Coinme. \u201cInitially, Coinme will utilize the underlying technology platform of Liquidity Hub, with plans to unlock additional functionality as it becomes available,\u201d Ripple detailed.<\/p>\n

This product launch announcement came as Ripple continues its legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The securities regulator sued Ripple Labs, its CEO Brad Garlinghouse, and co-founder Christian Larsen for allegedly raising more than $1.3 billion through XRP<\/a> which the commission considers an unregistered security offering. Ripple and its executives are fighting the lawsuit, insisting that XRP<\/a> is not a security.<\/p>\n
