Responding to a question about whether he has dabbled in bitcoin or cryptos, Trump promptly said: \u201cI don\u2019t. I like the currency of the United States.\u201d He elaborated:<\/p>\n<p>I think the others are potentially a disaster waiting to happen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel that it [cryptocurrency] hurts the United States currency,\u201d he continued. \u201cI think we should strengthen, we should be invested in our currency, not in [cryptocurrencies].\u201d He further exclaimed, \u201cThey [cryptocurrencies] may be fake, who knows what they are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Referring to crypto, the former president admitted, \u201cThey are certainly something that people don\u2019t know much about.\u201d He reiterated:<\/p>\n<p>No. I have not been a big fan.<\/p>\n<p><!-- growjs zone placement 31 -->    <!-- end of growjs zone placement --> <\/p>\n<p>Trump has always been a critic of bitcoin and crypto. In June, he <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/donald-trump-bitcoin-btc-scam-heavy-crypto-regulation\/\">said<\/a> bitcoin \u201cseemed like a scam.\u201d He added, \u201cI don\u2019t like it because it\u2019s another currency competing against the dollar \u2026 I want the dollar to be the currency of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, while still president of the U.S., Trump tweeted: \u201cI am not a fan of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air.
