The Dogecoin Foundation has been reestablished with \u201ca renewed focus\u201d to accelerate the development of Dogecoin. Among the foundation\u2019s advisers are Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Jared Birchall, the manager of Tesla CEO Elon Musk\u2019s family office.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dogecoin Foundation Relaunched<\/h2>\n

The Dogecoin Foundation has been reestablished \u201cwith a renewed focus on supporting the Dogecoin ecosystem, community and promoting the future of the Dogecoin blockchain,\u201d the foundation announced Monday. After being inactive for many years, the foundation tweeted<\/a> Monday: \u201cGuess who\u2019s back!\u201d<\/p>\n

Emphasizing that it is \u201cnot here to \u2018take control\u2019 of the Dogecoin Core wallet project,\u201d the foundation explained:<\/p>\n

We are here to accelerate the development effort by supporting current Dogecoin Core and future Dogecoin developers to work on a full-time basis through sponsorship, as well as providing a welcome landing for new contributors hoping to help with the project.<\/p>\n

The Dogecoin Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2014 by members of the Dogecoin team to provide \u201cSupport for the Dogecoin cryptocurrency through development and advocacy,\u201d its website details. The organization is also responsible for defending the Dogecoin trademark \u201cto prevent abuse and fraud\u201d and establishing \u201cA roadmap and governance for the future of Dogecoin.\u201d<\/p>\n

The foundation said it \u201cholds the Dogecoin mark and the Dogecoin logo and will maintain them for the community.\u201d<\/p>\n

The foundation\u2019s website lists four advisers: Jared Birchall, Max Keller, Shibetoshi Nakamoto (Billy), and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Birchall, a former Morgan Stanley executive, is a close associate of Tesla CEO Elon Musk. He is the managing director of Musk\u2019s family office, Excession. Buterin has previously spoken<\/a> about a possible collaboration between Dogecoin and Ethereum. \u201cIf we can have a secure Doge-to-Ethereum bridge. That would be amazing,\u201d he said in June. The other advisers are Dogecoin Core developer Max Keller and Dogecoin co-creator Billy Markus (also known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto).<\/p>\n

The foundation noted that in the coming weeks, it \u201cwill be announcing new projects that will complement the current Core wallet to enable faster integration and easier APIs for financial, social and charitable projects wishing to use Dogecoin.\u201d<\/p>\n
